Handbuilding is a traditional method of creating with clay in which you use your hands and a slab of clay instead of a potter's wheel. If you're new to pottery, this is a very approachable way to get to know clay as an artistic medium.
In this one-evening class you will have access to our white stoneware clay, all of our handbuilding tools and textures, and a selection of underglazes and glazes. Included in the class cost is 400 cubic inches of space (approximately a shoe box) and if you're on a roll and want to make more, then it's just $10 to fill another one.
Everything you make can be food safe!
About the Teachers
Feb 13 and 15 taught by Teal, Feb 14 taught by Roxane.
Have you always wanted to try gold luster? Want to add a little bling to your pottery?
Join us for a special morning with our very own Anna Sage to learn how to apply gold luster to your glazed pieces.
Bring along work you made that has been glaze fired (luster is a 3rd firing) and you will receive enough gold luster to add design elements to your pieces. The cost of this workshop includes instruction, luster, and firing for 2-4 pieces (approximately 400 cubic inches).
Workshop is limited to 10 people and pre-registration is required.
Notes: Luster isn't meant to completely cover your pottery, and once it has been fired will no longer be microwave safe.
